How to make meat pie

Delicious healthy meat pie is a friendly snack that keeps family together and most certainly leads the way to daddy’s heart through his stomach. Meat pie is a yummy and delicious snack readily prepared and can be found on street corners, eateries, even in parties. But you can also prepare at home and enjoy it your family, it goes with any chilled beverages.

Ingredients

  • Flour(all purpose)
  • Minced meat
  • Onions
  • Chopped carrots
  • Chopped Irish or sweet potatoes
  • Seasoning cube
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil
  • Baking powder
  • Eggs

Methods for meat pie filling

Place pan on a medium heat, add your meat and onion allow the minced meat to cook till is browned

Add salt, carrot, potatoes and a water, cover until potatoes is cooked

Then combine the flour with little water, add the mix flour into the sauce to thicken it, add curry.

Remove your sauce from heat, set aside to cool off.

Dough

All purpose flour

Baking powder

A pinch of salt

Sugar, but is optional

Margarine

Eggs for finishing

Add water bit by bit because you do not want sticky dough

Direction

In a bowl, put flour; add baking powder, salt and a little sugar if you want thoroughly mix.

Open the margarine and add to the dry ingredients till they are all mix well together.

Little by little, add water to the water until the dough is well incorporated.

Keep the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Add flour to a smooth surface, using a rolling pin to flatten the dough.

  • Set your oven to 170 degrees

close forming half-moon shape.

  • Press the edges together to seal, decorate using the back of fork
  • Transfer to a foil paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Rub the egg on the dough to give the pie a golden brown look.
  • Repeat the same process with the remaining filling and dough.
  • Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or till it’s lightly golden brown.
